
TIRUPATI: The fifth convocation of the Indian institute of information technology (IIIT) at Sri City in Tirupati district was held on Saturday.
Union minister of state for education Dr Subhas Sarkar who took part as the chief guest, delivered the convocation address.
Established in 2013, IIIT-Sri city had the unique distinction of being the first IIIT established in the PPP mode to introduce MS and PhD programs.
Prof. G Kannabiran, director of the IIIT-Sri city presented the details of the Gyan circle ventures, various achievements of the premier institute during the convocation.
Later degrees were awarded to 218 students, including 208 from the B Tech stream, five MS and five PhD degrees to the students.
M Balasubramaniam, chairman of the board of governors at IIIT Sri city, Sri City chairman C Srinivasa Raju, Caterpillar technology centre director Bhuvan Anandkrishnan, academicians, industrialists, students and parents from India and abroad took part.
